11- Do you know about the Spanish digiscoping community? If your answer is yes, what do you think about the quality of the Spanish photos?
No, I’m sorry to say I do not, but when I was browsing the Asedi-site I noticed some spectacular pictures such as the flying Willet by Juan Manuel Benjumea or the Short-toed Eagle by Nacho Contreras.
12- Every day in ASEDI, there appear new beginners with a lot of interest in learning and taking lessons from the great photographers. What advice would you give to a beginner in this photo technique? Could you describe for us the adjustments you normally use in your camera and the main steps you follow, or some aspects you consider interesting, to touch up your pictures in the PC? For the majority of photographers the most important things are patience, a good understanding of the species you want to photograph and at least some knowledge of local conditions. This is especially true if you want to capture interesting behaviour. For me as an opportunist this is slightly less important, if I see a good picture I just point and shoot. There are situations where some planning helps, knowing when the light is best in a certain area or when birds are most active improve your chances and can make a lot of difference. |
